Our Market Collaborative Art Project 18-23rd Feb 2019.

The Daily Journey with art materials meant I took a ride in a lift that in all my trips I have never ventured in and I would have missed the floor numbers which make sense but at the same time don't.Over my time on the Art project this bridge became a favourite non-space. I walked it measured it and imagined a mini disco held on it I even got my playlist inspired by Georgio Moroder favs. Maybe I can Make it happen? this little bridge led me to Franz Kafka's short story 'The Bridge' [1]which I had never read.

I love the insight the words give you into a 1970's Indoor Market in a Northern Town.
These images are a small selection which give an essence of the project.
We got given art work from the public and stall holders to put up in the space, shared ideas, memories, knowledge of fruit and the town.
People shared the space sitting down to eat lunch, resting heavy bags on the drawing table, did drawings to music, got excited about projects, invited us to share a coffee.

The local MP Barry Sheerman stopped by and shared a few minutes of impromptu chat which was lovely!

Finally we wrapped up and were told we had brought vibrancy to the Market and we would be missed. We kinda miss the space which was our home for a week.

The red thread and bell are a link to Flightpath 2017, 2018 another collaborative project UK and Germany.
